On the initiation of the Local Arya Samajis and intellectuals of Simdega, the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi came forward to open this school in 1995. In the beginning, the school was started from the Anand Bhawan (Dharmshala) on rental basis for a period of one and half year. By the time, a suitable land having an area of 13.46 acres at Tukupani, just 4 km from Simdega towards Rourkela, was purchased from Shri Prem Shankar Prasad and it put its firm footing for an educational Centre of excellence at Simdega. Since then it has not seen back by adding one class every year. It has crossed the nascent stage opening Std-IX in the session 2001-2002. The school provides a congenial environment for all round development of every child. Instruction is imparted through the medium of English, though equal emphasis is laid on the teaching of Hindi and Sanskrit. Equal emphasis is also put on Music, Sports, Art and Craft. Dharam Siksha guides the students to lead a virtuous life.
